The One I Love!

Here is the quilt that just hits me the right way.

 I love everything about it.

I took a class by Natalie Sewell with some friends in beautiful

 Hudson Valley, New York.

This is the class that set me free from rules and restrictions.

When we used sharpie markers, white out inks and did not follow a pattern. I

knew I stumbled onto a process that I would love to do.  



I still smile when I think back to the little carry on suit cases that

most of us came with while we all seemed to show up with a 

over sized suitcases filled with fabrics.

One of my favorite things is meeting the women.

They came from California, Texas, New York, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Rhode Island and Canada. There was a art gallery curator, nurse, domestics goddess, office workers and retired professionals.

But we left feeling like

 ARTISTS!

 NO Seams, Pins or Blocks

I recovered the dining room chairs!

The fabric is from Ikea.

 I like the clean sharp lines!

Hopefully I will be back at the machine this week!!

The "F" Word

Fabric Folded Flower

I choose 3!

 When my mom spotted this 3 session class.

We signed up on the spot!

We learned ways to fold the fabric, sew it between layers of fabric

and tack the fabric to create the shapes forming the pedals.

But the fun didn't stop there.

 We then embellished.

 I choose to French Knot the center

 and add sparkly paint. Quilted with metallic threads and added crystals.

 My mom choose to add all kinds of texture yarns.

Had so much Fun making this little art piece.

But mostly because my mom and I share this time together!

Friends, Prom & Segways!

FRIENDS!

This quilt was made for Keith and Lucy as a wedding gift.

At the reception, guests signed the back, in the diamond shapes, as they arrived.

It was a wonderful day.

They truly are meant for each other!

On the back are a few photos, along with the

signitures and a copy of the wedding invitation.

Prom!

TILT YOUR HEAD

I spent allot of time trying to turn this photo and just could not do it.

This is my handsome son and his beautiful date.

They looked So.... Stunning as a Couple!

Not only did our son go to the Prom but our Niece as well.

She looked so... Pretty in her white and gold dress.

Had to include a photo of Ronald with his best friend.

 He has been apart of our family since kindergarten.

And a full shot of Ronald and his date. Her dress was perfect.

Segways!

I think we maybe CRAZY!

Philadelphia is not far from our home,

so we took advantage of the weather.

My husband, 2 sons and mother straped on our helmets and cruised the city

by Segways. I was amazed by how much I have not seen of Phila. by car.

We went to Olde City, down town, shopping area, and the art/threater district.

We stopped to see and hear information along the way.

Did not go to Fabric Row.

But would need a car for purchases anyway!

Court Is In Session

Here is a Court House Step design, made with fabric made by Thimble Berry.  

I liked how you had to keep your thoughts in order while constructing this piece.

Each block, created the next color way for the ajoining, top and bottom blocks.

This piece was machine pieced and hand quilted.

The hand quilting added to the antique look of the quilt.

This is not my normal colors nor pattern, so it was a fun to try something new.
