Slow But Fun!

As of the other day!

I just walked in from having lunch and hand stitching on my mothers deck!
It is a beautiful day here.
This is one of my many WIP's!

Rolling Along With Riley!

That is the
Riley Blake Challenge!

This needs to be submitted by July but I will feel
much better if it is done by June.

For Baby Harry!

They say that babies need stimulating colors.
I think this will give Harry allot to look at!

Many times I prefer colors that are not so traditional.
I think that is covered here.
That is lime green on the back !

I attached a hanging sleeve if they want to hang it too.

This month has been extremely busy but I have been able to complete

Till We Quilt Again,

I am also on,

Friend's On Friday-Kathy

Sit Back and Enjoy!

Kathy B. made this quilt while taking a class at Olde City Quilts in Burlington , NJ.
The class was a sampler using Bernina's feet.

When Kathy asked me to quilt this beautiful quilt, I was screaming inside with joy and fear!
This quilt is Amazing!

What Caught My Eye!

"Photos Thru My Lens"
Sunset In The Summer-North Wildwood, NJ

"5 Things That Caught My Eye"
  • Don't you love useless information! Here is one of those things that I never even gave it a thought. Someday this will come in handy to know!
  • Why is it that whenever you start cutting back on calories , a recipe shows up that is wonderfully sinful! Yeap I have made it!!
  • Great information on cleaning your bobbin case.  There is a video!
  • I will admit it--I enjoy the binding process however I am not a fan of attaching a quilt sleeve. I have now done this technique to speed up the process but mainly to get a nice straight sleeve. It works!

They Are Coming!

Our friend Natalie in the Jersey Shore Modern Quilt Guild is expecting twins any day now!
At our last guild meeting there was a shower.

So I jumped on the band wagon and made 2 of the "One Hour" baskets by Kelby Sews.
The pattern is free, fun & fast!

I reversed the inside and outside fabrics and keeping the handles the same.
Then stuffed the baskets with diapers and bum care accessories.

The ideas are endless for this project.
I will be doing this again.

Slow Moving Sunday!

The trees and flowers are blooming which is wonderful
however my sinus headache is pounding.
So today I doodled on my Ipad.
Don't you just love the pencil stylus!

I take photos of all my customers quilts and play with different styles of quilting ideas!
Then I save them to a file so I can pick and choose what I like best.
I am no Picasso but it sure does help with creative ideas!

I did get Harry's name on his baby quilt and started the binding,
but just do not feel like being at the machine today. So that is not done.

And here is tonight's handy fun---maybe?
Believe it or not this piece is slowly coming together.

As my mother says
--you won't know a good day if you didn't have these kinds of days!

72 Wonderful Hours of MQX!

Ronald's Flight received two ribbons at MQX in New Hampshire!

He won the
"Faculty Award" from Candace West
and the "Founders Award" from Lisa Shelke

Crazy thing is that Ronald is taking his Certified Pilots Teachers License this week!
And will be teaching up and down the east coast this summer!

Here
is the form that hung with his quilt!

I am so... Thankful I received Ronald as one of my sons!

I was so... happy that my mom was able to be there with me!

With Mary Schilke!

The Swedish Double Chain did not receive any ribbons however
I was honored to have two quilts in this event.

My mom and I!

I was able to take a few wonderful classes, one was from  Bethanne Nemesh and
another from Karen Machetti

Here is a few of Bethanne's quilts!

The detail is just amazing!

Also took a fantastic class with Judy Madsen.
Do you recognize the quilt behind me from the cover of her book?

Here are my buddies!
My mom and Sherrie from Jersey Shore Modern Quilt Guild
Sherri is also a Nolting longarm quilter.

Diane the founder of the Jersey Shore Modern Quilt Guild
Diane is starting to apply her talent to L/A quilting as well!

Sherri with her beautiful quilt that was in the show.

And Nancy that I recently meet at QuiltCon in Austin a few weeks ago!
Nancy is also a professional longarm quilter.

 What I left knowing!
Taking a chance is worth it.
Support from family and friends--is the best.
Being open to new things has so many rewards.
If you keep searching you find your path.
