Well I am a day behind!
"Tis the season"

Vicki was one busy elf getting a few gifts together!

She added borders onto a panel for a wall hanging.

You might be wondering what this is?

But wait for this!

It turns into a adorable Picket Snowman Fence wall hanging! By Farmhouse Threads

And then there is this oh so.... cute panel runner!

Venice Block!

I have had the privilege to test blocks for Esther from I Patch And Quilt.  This paper piecing  pattern is easy to understand with some knowledge of this technique. I like that Esther includes several size blocks with your purchase.

The block above is going to be made into a pillow to go with a quilt that I am working on
(you can see on Instagram photo below).
However I also can see a striking quilt made with several size blocks in the future!

The sky is the limit as a lovely bed runner, table topper, holiday fabric tree skirt etc......

Here is the link to "October Sky" which is the other block I tested.

Here are the most recent photos from Instagram.

The Eclipse!

Ready for take-off
-- sit back we are heading into space!

Earlier this year we did some traveling. And I wanted a hand project to take along that would not be too cumbersome.

Having done traditional English Paper Piece (EPP). I thought this would be a fun one to try.

The pattern was very well written and easy to follow, I would highly recommend giving it a try. What I liked about this design is the unusual shapes of the hexagons that created the sphere.

I had this graduated black, gray & white fabric that created a Eclipse look which was my hubby's first words when he saw it.

As with most quilts, I enjoy the whole process from picking fabrics all the way to the binding however I will admit that sleeves are my least favorite, but there is a magic that happens when you add the quilting. And the magic is my favorite part!

A few tips along the way!

Organization is the key!
Geta directs you through the construction.

Did I mention how important staying organized is!
There are many little pieces and I am sure a few airline stewards, maids and rental car cleaners are wondering what they are!

Do your best to match piecing threads,
they show up if you do allot of quilting.

For me, I used allot of silk thread!

Snowflakes & Blueberry Martini's

What a combo-Right?
This time of year we I seem to be
all over the place.
Here is a few things to share!

This my quilt for our guilds retreat Challenge this year. We where to make a limited size piece that was a Christmas song title, we were not to use any letters or numbers. So "Let It Snow".

Recently while in Florida we had gone to Stonewood Grill & Tavern. I had one of the best drinks ever! So over Thanksgiving while my family was home we had to make these. And it would not be right if I didn't share this deliciousness with you. One of the most light and fresh drinks I ever had.

Blueberry Martini

8 fresh blueberries
1 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces Van Gogh blueberry vodka
Splash lemonade
* Place seven blueberries and the simple syrup in a shaker and muddle them.
* Add Ice, the vodka and lemonade and shake vigorously.
* Strain into a chilled martini glass.
* Garnish with a fresh blueberry on the rim.

Sea Of Blue!

I get to swim in all of this wonderfulness!
The pieces have been cut.
Now onto laying it out and piecing it together.

Then onto some surfing with the quilting.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!
