The Other Man In My Life!

We met a year ago in Texas!
Needing to get to know each other on a deeper and personal level is why I choose not to mention him till now.
Not knowing if I would have a connection, I waited to post this.
As you will see we are great together.
Here is my cutie--- Nick!

We all seem to have names for our sweeties.
Whenever I heard Nolting--I thought of Nick Nolte.
Realizing I am dating myself and not able to tell you much about him except I never had a girly crush on him, but hearing the companies' name--I always thought of Nick.
Call me Weird!

*Delivery Day*
Arriving one night, just before Christmas
Nolting Representative's Mike pulled in his sleigh
 (really, it was a van).
I felt like a little girl waiting for Santa.
And a huge mistletoe has hung over Nick ever since!

I was only able to play with Nick a little bit before Christmas,
but the New Year brought in many fun hours together!

This past year I attended long arm gatherings, practiced, took online classes and joined several long arm cults groups!
And have met some wonderful people.
Thanks to Nick.

 A few you may know.

First met in Utah, again in Houston and again at L/A Retreat in P.A.

Plus meeting so many from Blog Land and Classes!

Nick & I  seem to have chemistry
in competing during our first 12 month together.

And a Beauty that you might see in a future show!

A few things I have learned this year.......
Your quilting will never be perfect, which makes you human!
You never stop learning.
There never is a mistake that you don't learn from.
Practice, Practice, Practice is the only way!
Never say never.
And
Just Do It!

Here is where you can meet Nick's relatives.

WIP or Not!

Well........it is a work in progress but really don't know
how I feel about it yet.

Gonna either Love It or Hate It!

Looks a bit boring--- right?

Some thread might help it--Maybe?
Or Not

Since I got the nerve to show it on this WIP day,
I will be a big girl & post the finished THING
regardless how it turns out!

Pumpkins & Detours!

 Detour One
Off to Vermont! It was time for the annual clean-up for the upcoming ski season. After a few days of cleaning, laughing, stacking wood, eating and shopping. We were home!

It was the first day they could ski at the top.

Detour Two
Day after returning from Vermont our son was preparing to drive back to Florida for more Helicopter Piloting training. He got a call that a helicopter was being sent to pick him up--& for him to fly it down. Hubby couldn't come with me, so a friend jumped on a road trip! Wahooo!  Thelma and Louise had nothing on us! A few hours later we were hitting quilt stores in the state of Florida after a detour in Georgia! Ha-ha. And Thanks Geri for all the suggestions (Our Quilt Travel Informant).

Doing the pre-flight check list.

Detour Three
OK, I admit it! We left our cloths in Florida--in my sons car so we could get the fabric home! I chuckle when thinking about the TSA-Officers x-raying all the fabric and no cloths.  True Quilters Never Give Up--Right? We had a bumpy plane ride home--knitting was therapeutic for me-
but poor Louise didn't feel well with the turbulence.

Thelma & Louise arrive to Florida!

Look at that Happy Face!

My view from the lounge chair!

One of the best places ever!

Detour Four
We based our return on a prior commitment. After arriving home with fabric in tow, the next morning--was off to the Princeton-Yale Football game (my friends daughter attends "Harry PotterVille"--I mean Princeton). It was a great day of football, dinner and a play. At this point I was beyond consciousness--and have no idea where the pictures went to!

So with so many detours in a matter of days that infringed on customer and personal quilt time. I have been Longarming non-stop since my the return and I am keeping my finger crossed
 that I stay on schedule!!

I love that my family & friends take Detours which allows for
 these crazy things to happen.
Cheers To Detours!

 Pumpkins &  Tom the Turkey

I am the lucky recipient of this adorable mason jar lid pumpkin.
My friend Denise (aka Louise) is the creator!
You can see how she made it Here at her and her daughters blog.

Elena made these cuties to take to her daughters for Thanksgiving.
She found these on Pinterest.

And here is Tom the Turkey that Pam made at Debbie's yesterday.
I missed all the fun since I am still quilting away!

Happy Thanksgiving

WIP-Wednesday!

This is a lap/wall quilt to be auctioned at
a Rotary Gala!

My sis-in-law is the new President!

On the night of this event last year, my mother & I were in Houston.
And while there, I was on a mission to purchased this
good looking guy below
Opps! I mean Nolting Long Arm (more about him later).

One year ago, last night, is when Hurricane Sandy hit the New Jersey Coast.

In this past year so much has happened in our household.

But we have plenty of time to chat about that later.

I thought since I joined the WIP Posting event--
I should actually take part in it!

A Year Ago-This Week-With My Mom!

Last year this week, my mother and I were in Houston, Texas.
A long awaited trip that I wouldn't have wanted
to have shared with anyone else.
We laughed and cried while I treasured every minute of it!

Some photos are blurry-I was learning but clear on previous post.

At that time, it was a hectic trying to get a earlier flight
with the onset of Hurricane Sandy's arrival, but we did.

(A few miles from our home)

We returned home to our family safe and homes in tack,
having minimal damage in our area.
But many were not so lucky (including my in-laws) .
I didn't post much of this memorable trip, I think since knowing so many had lost so much.

A year later, residents of New Jersey still have a long recovery
road, while also have came a along way.

As I read from many heading to Houston,
all the excitement and anticipation, I wanted to share our overdue memories
 of Houston 2012.

Thank You Mom, for creating these memories with me.
I know I am the luckiest person to have gotten you as
a Mom, Supporter, Confidant and Most of all Incredible Friend.

I LOVE YOU, MOM!
Thank You for being You!
