Some "TLC"

This Quilt Needed Some Tender Loving Care

Karen (a friend) and her mother made this quilt in the 70's. A few years later her mother had passed away. Karen treasured the memories of her and her mother making this quilt together.

Over the years this quilt has been loved by Karen's children as well.
And she wanted to somehow preserve it.

This came to me worn thin, spots, tied (not quilted)
 and also needed  new backing.

It now has new batting, backing and is heavily
quilted with feathers.

So... no matter how many Love Stains, Love Tears and Love Memories
a quilt has seen, it always brings
Love To Our Hearts!

Remember When!

Quilts are memories, in my mind of the past.

When I see this Quilt:
The boys where really LITTLE boys... then.
Losing my dad was so new... then.
I worked on this quilt with a broken leg... then.
Lady, our dog was alive... then.
Didn't have gray hair... then.
Wore smaller cloths... then.
I thought I was a skilled quilter...then.
Gas was ALLOT cheaper... then.

I Really Miss Her!

This wall quilt was made on my Dearly Departed fancy machine that I once had.
I love the way it came out!
All the squares were done on the embroidery part of the machine.
There was a total of 24 designs and only used 5 in this piece (photo not so clear)
It took awhile to get over the loss of her.
I think back to all that she was capable of doing and had done.
Nothing will ever take her place, but threw some wine and fabric shopping therapy.
I have come to Love my New Machines but in a different way!
The Quilting Still Goes On!!

Till We Quilt Again,
