This Is How It All Started!

I wasn't sure how I was going to start blogging. So I thought since I have my first wall hanging still up, that would be a good place to begin.

This may bring back some memories (or nightmares), we used

muslin as foundation (paper piecing was not popular or discovered yet) where we would put pencil markings for the lines. I can not tell you how many hours it took to pick out the fabric (boy did I fret over that). You would have thought that this would be hanging in a musem! I often smile to myself when I walk by it.

That was such a Great Day!!

Thanks Mom, Inge and Beth!!!!!

Till We Quilt Again

  1. Your starter piece looks real good! How long ago? I remember my first pieces . . . some fondly some with cringing! Thanks for sharing.

  2. This was made almost 21 years ago. The process of the cardboard templetes were the ones that really got me in a tizzy. I am so glad that was only short lived! I am just glad I came into quilting when the rotary cutter was available.

  3. Snowmen are my favorite! He is Mom did some quilting with the quilters grid...I haven't tried it yet, but it reminds me of those wall hangings she did.

  4. Hey My Creative Heart, Thanks for all the support. I really meant it, we need to get together and ponder the blogging world. Shall I have red or white available?

  5. Helen, You WEREN"T supposed to pick out the fabric. It was there as a base!!! I am surprised you even continued after that wallhanging. Your friend & former quilting teacher, Beth

  6. To anyone interested: I am a follower of Linda Gilli. She has a great page--lots of interesting stuff to look at. She is also having a giveway. If you interested she is at:

  7. I love a riesling or pinot grigio...just a touch of sweet fruity is best...I'll bring my glass!

Thank You for stopping by and leaving a few words. I will answer questions for all to read or you can email me privately for a private response. Either way I will answer you soon. Till We Quilt Again, Helen
