Hola & Blog Linky Party!

Adjust Your Speakers.
Mexican Vacation Music is Going to Start Now!

Boat to the left is our sailors.
Estamos de vuelta de México!
We are back from Mexico!

Landed Friday night, got a few hours sleep,
and Saturday took off to a quilting class.
The family was on their own!
One son washed/packed and went back to college
(Don't Forget to Call Your Mom!)
and the other son finished up homework
(with no food in the house)
Do you think I have my priorities straight?
I most likely will not get the
"Mother Of The Year Award".
And I am so OK with that.

I have been on a slight detour from
quilting and blogging.
And now that I have recovered by vacationing,
  swimming, tanning and relaxing!

So.. to begin my process of returning to normal,
I am posting about Mexico and
a Blog Linky Party I linked up to upon returning.

 Fear Not!
I only posted some of the photos.
For my family, I will send you the LONG Version soon.

Note to Self:
Do not bring cotton yarn and use metal
needles in tropical climates.

This plate I painted as a souvenir
(shine is from sky light windows)
It looks like a quilt to me!

And onto the Blog Linky Party.
I never realized how many people I would
 meet through linking.
Check out
Marcia's Crafty Sewing Blog
this is her home page.
It is filled with lots of information.

So as I end this post....
I want to Thank You for all your
Wonderful comments, and being
able to meet so many new people
 by linking into Marcia's Party.
I look forward to getting to know you better!

And as for my family!
Lots of changes are coming to the Ernesto home
(Mexico gave us a new name).
I would not trade one second of our time together from this trip.
I have a permanent grin on my face and
heart from all the Love and Laughter
 that we shared!

There was allot of Zumba happening on the beach.
Here is 3 songs from our trip.

Till We Quilt Again,

  1. What a fun post! & thanks for your sweet comment about my t-shirt quilt.

  2. What a great blog! I so laughed about your kids needing to do their own wash and homework with no food in the house!! tee hee!

  3. Glad you had a nice relaxing vacation! They are so worth it. Welcome back!

  4. Wow, that was fun!!! Thanx for the mini vacation...I feel so refreshed and ready for my day!!! I'm gonna need to download those fun songs...that music gets you moving!! D~

  5. Welcome to the link-up, looking forward to following your blog.

  6. I sooooooo love Mexico. But for us it's camping on the beach and four wheeling in Baja. haven't done that in a while because of all the crazy stuff going on down there. The plate you painted is really nice and does look like an applique pattern, now how to fit that in...

  7. Welcome back and thanks for the music! Kind of fun to listen to! Your plate is gorgeous! Looking forward to keeping up with you!!

  8. I'm always excited to see another quilter who knits too!.

I'm curious about your "note to self"...and not using cotton with metal in that climate. Did the cotton stretch? were the needles noisy?

    Thanks for the fun music!

  9. Several have asked about "Note To Self" about the knitting so here is what I logged mentally:

I had taken 2 knitting projects (small so it would not be all over my lap or in lotion). One was cotton and one was not and they both required 2 different size needles (I had bamboo circulars with me). The cotton project on the plane and all was good. But when outside in Mexico the cotton got damp so it was very hard to pick up—it swelled. And the bamboo needles worked but would have slide much better if on metal.

  10. Love your projects and posts! I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award. Please check it out on my blog. http://scrappinmyhydeoff.blogspot.com/2012/04/im-versatileim-versatile.html
