WIP & Feb.Finish Goal!

Started this many years ago.

Since it was half done-and never finished.

It is perfect for my February Finish goal.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thursday Carolyn & I leave for Virginia Beach to 

Birds of Feather Long Arm Conference.

 This year I am looking forward to classes

with  Jamie Wallen and Angela Walters.

Last year I took classes with

Renae Haddadin, Lisa Calle, Valeria Hill 

and Valerie Schlake.

Which were fantastic!

 

 

Luckily the next snow storm is not due

to arrive till Sunday night.

The Long Arm Gods are with us!

So Finally Riley is Done!

 The Modern Quilt Guild Riley Blake Challenge is Done!

Which has been a challenge.

After a few sketches this is the
one I choose. 

 Came across
Camille Roskelley's PDF with 25 ways to lay out HST's.

This is a great one to print!



And now to figure out how to link it up!

That may be another challenge.

A Lovely Year of Finishers-January 2014

Well Almost Finished!

In upstate New York while on a retreat,

I started this quilt.

It then moved to my design wall

for several months.

 It is such a simple quilt--

so why is it taking forever to finish?

 As of today, this is the quilt top.

It is not quilted, and that is fine.

The plan is to piece the bits of fabric

 that are left for the backing.

I want to quilt this when I am not on

 a deadline.

 

Ironically isn't this what the assignment

 is 

 A Deadline!

What A Combo....WIP & Fear!

 

 

 

If I sat and stared at Riley Blake long enough--

some idea will come--Right?

Ahhh NO!---The only thing I got was Fearful!

 

 

 

 

This is how I felt.

Less that sweet smile.

So...what is one to do?
 Put on music, pour wine, graph a plan and slice away.

 At this point I had to say
"It Is What It Is"

 Riley Blake Challenge has been a WIP and
a real challenge--
For me!

So I am now turning the bend--
the binding will go on and so will I.

FEAR NOT---I have been following for awhile and enjoy all that you have posted. As time is ticking on in life I have been finding my personal voice and rolling with it. If people don't care for what I post-they have the right to unsubscribe and click away. I never want to offend or be offended--what's the saying "Play Nice!" Usually if you are thinking it--so is the majority out in Blog Land. So sharing is Great! Plus I love reading tidbits of the personal lives--I get to know them better! Like I know you more today than yesterday and that is a good thing! Hi I am Helen--can you come out and play?

 

 

 

So does fear get in your way?

When I am not looking fear has a way of creeping in.

A little background!

After a couple of years and a few hiccups in life,

we were gifted with two incredible boys.

That was 23 and 19 years ago.

During their journey to become men they were given a few obstacles,

some not so easy and some recently to overcome.

  

These detours has made them men!

The oldest graduates with a Master's Degree in the spring

and the youngest recently completed his Helicopters' Private Pilots test.

 (he can fly the helicopter in the YouTube).

 

The trip to Whistler was our graduation gift to them!!

They deserved it!

And I just had to share!
