Sea Of Blue Finished!

First Finish for 2016!

I started this the end of November, so most of it was sewn last year and then I quilted and bound this year. But still is my first finish for 2016. Sounds like such a long time to be under construction but it is only 9 weeks ago I started!

Pattern is by Julie at Jaybird Quilts and called Boomerang. Since I live near the beach I can not help but call my quilt "Sea of Blue".

Normally I am not one to follow a pattern exactly down to the colors and quilting but I fell in love with everything about this one. I loved the quilting by Angela Walters so I mimicked that too. I hope they both take that as a loving compliment.

Fabrics--Kona Fat Quarter Bundle called Grecian Water Colorstory but pulled the ones that were too green out and added some from another bundle by Kona called Pool Party Palette.

Crazy how things work! I am participating in the  Fat Mum Slim "Photo A Day" Challenge for a month on Instagram. And today's photo subject is "Something Blue" at  #FMS_blue. I know many quilters are involved and I am looking forward to seeing what you are posting over the month!

I am not sure what is going on but can not get some of words any larger (above).
If you know why-please let me know!

  18. Your quilt is gorgeous, and as a fellow fan of Angela Walters, I think youve done her credit, well done!
I sometimes have problems with text in Blogger too, these days I tend to write everything in a Word doc, then paste it into Blogger, change the font, and the size to Large, it looks enormous, but when you publish the size is fine. Hope that helps! I'm visiting from Freshly Pieced, nice to meet you :)
