Summer Solstice in April

I am quilting this great pattern by Marelize's quilt called Summer Solstices

I had big dreams when planning the journey for this beauty above! My overly energetic personality and plans went astray as I came down with the "Super Quilter Syndrome". I know this is a foreign disease to most, but when it hits--IT HITS HARD! In hindsight, I should have seen it coming but I was in denial. As this seeped into all aspects of life I found I was just too weak! My brain kept saying--Oh What's A Little More-I can do it!

So..... as I often do, when this energy zapping disease hits--it is time to get REAL! Time for the Super Powers of Mediation, Pondering, Prayer and Reflecting. Once the head is finally clear it is time to "Eat That Frog" Which is my Go-To prescription for just about everything!

The quilt is now in its final stages!

These are the fabric I used.

FYI

Marelize's is having a giveaway and this pattern is part of it.

Go check out her site at Stitch By Stitch

This quilt is my ALYOF-For April
(A Lovely Year Of Finishes).

  1. Dang - I have that virus too, but I just didn't know what it was called. Super Quilter Syndrome! Yep, I've caught it, too. Tell me - what's the cure?

Can't wait to see your quilt - the fabrics you've pulled are gorgeous!

    1. "SQS" seems to hit every so often like the Flu! However other than "Eat That Frog". my go-to prescription, I say laying on a beach seems to fix my ailments. It has to do with the warmth of the sun, resting and no deadlines--Whata doing next week? Haha!

  2. I think I have finally stopped that one...after 4 solid months of super-custom quilting for others, I finally have one of my own that needs super-custom quilting...but it's MINE!!! It has been a year since I quilted one of my own quilts!!! Love your Summer Solstice - fabulous fabric choices!!

    1. Nothing looks appetizing when you stare at it long enough! By the way, another Frog landed on my door step today--Thanks for sending. Like the colors much better. This I think will be allot less "SQS" provoking. Might even bring along to the meeting (Hay crazier things have happened).
