Blogger' Quilt Festival

This is my first time linking up at Bloggers Quilt Festival. Having read and followed for years, I have decided to take the plunge! Truth be told I have my fingers crossed and hoping the "Quilting Gods" are on my side--that I will have this linked here and there!

Weather you like a light or dark background, modern or traditional fabrics this pattern works well with all styles.

I recently posted this quilt here if you would like to see more photos.

Inspiration Party and Give Away!

in·spi·ra·tion:
1the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something,
 especially to do something creative.
2. the drawing in of a breath; inhalation

#1 happens only if I am doing #2
(I see you chuckling!)

Here is how it works for me:
Stage 1.
There is chatter and mass confusion swirling in my head.
My definition of this experience is called "Pre-inspiration"
It is the excitement of what is to come!

Stage 2.
Then it is time to let it go!
Just stop thinking--yes, this can be hard-but it is a must for me.

Stage 3.
"Arrival Time" of that wonderful thing called Inspiration!
This happens anywhere or anytime.
Usually for me it is when I am very still and calm, like sitting on the deck, closing my eyes for a few minutes, even while in the shower,
but mainly when I am sleeping!

Nothing is as more wonderful (in the way of creativity) than having
the vision awaken me, slip out of bed and tip-toe to my book,
where my ideas are written and drawn.
Once the thought is on paper I can return to bed without
any lose of the Inspiration that just came!

So....
onto the Give Away!
Chelsey at Nini And The Sea's Blog is starting a
Inspiration Linking Party!

This duo team is filled with so much inspiration and creativity that you need to check out their blog and all the neat things happening!
This sound like fun to me!

Diane's Bee Block-WIP

Today's WIP was to awake early and make Diane's Bee Block.
So before 8 am this is the block I made.
Click Here to see her block and color request.

The fabrics!

Having done allot of fabric dying the past few years, I can not remember if the fern fabric this is one of my pieces or not!
This would have been done by sun dying.

This block feels like Diane to me.
She is warm, calming and so... darn creative!

Graduation-College Quilt-#2

This my son and my niece last week.
My niece attends:
Wordmark

She recently came home for a few days and has since returned to Florida to take Honors courses throughout the summer.
(I will have a future post on my son--he recently became a  helicopter pilot)

The school colors are gold and black.

This is a lap size quilt.

It is hard to see in the photos but I used a ruler to quilt the top that is similar to a spiral burst of sunshine connected with loops.

You somewhat see it here.

This is one of those quilts that really makes a statement with
rich bright colors but does not show up well on the camera.
