Right about now we are traveling or pulling into MQX in Manchester New Hampshire.
After reading about this show for years, I always wondered if I my quilts could make it in!

Well they did.....and not only one-- but two did!
You can see them here and here.

Pulling In!

From Vermont!

Here is a few items that left that beautiful state.

Was not purchased to match.
Just like them all!
Also came home with 3 cutting templates,
but need to try them first!

Our little flock came home for the holidays and we then took off to Vermont!

Our son has been creating a business filming with a
drone on boats and with real estate.
He brought it along and took a few flight shots.

We have been making memories here for 39 years.
The beauty of the house is we get to ski in
and out all day long.

It is located on Pico Mountain in Vermont.

What I Have Learned!

"Ronald's Flight"
If you persist-- your vision will materialize.
If you Love who it is for--you will enjoy every step of the way.
I can see that I have come along way since starting this journey.

"Swedish Double Chain"
Given a challenge--I am discovering that is my favorite way to quilt.
I can take a traditional design and put a spin on it.
Using what you have is so rewarding.
Friends are such wonderful encouragement.

 "Swirly Whirly Milky Way"
My first chance at rejection--but I came out a winner.
I can play with the big girls.
I am not that bad.

What I have learned from not being accepted at Quilt Con.

After seeing so many wonderful submissions that where not accepted-
I know I am not alone. #quiltconreject #rejectedfromquiltcon
I know my quilts are good-so I won't stop here.
The people that really count-are always there.
By putting yourself out there-so many new wonderful things have happened.
And as I tell my kids! You have WON if you tired!

Here is a wonderful article that is floating around by Latifah Saafir

Today was.............

........WONDERFUL!

it was in the 90's--but not on the water!

We Fished!

I read--the new McTavishing book.

Pulled up to the 2 Mile Crab House for lunch to meet my mom.

Hijacked my mom for a ride.
This is her friends boat house in Cape May
(this little house was published in a designer home magazine--the inside is amazing!)

Rode through the harbor and saw boats like my dad use to own!

Went out in the bay with lots of dolphins.

Came home and grilled a basil & Jersey tomato white pizza.
Caught fish today but they were not keepers!

To include a bit of fiber!
A few weeks back Bloomin Workshop had a giveaway
to win a fat quarter bundle from American Made Brand.
And yeap, I was one of the winners.
Can't wait to play with this bundle!

I also linked up with Val's for "Tuesday Archives"
about English Paper Piecing

Pinspiration!

Making the decision to replace our outdoor furniture was not easy since loving what we had.
However it was time!

BYO pinic table with cooler
While browsing Pinterest I came across this one.
But it was too small.

Outdoor pinic table with built in ice chest
While we both liked this one.
Hubby wanted it to be square.

SO HERE IS WHAT HE MADE!

This was a few weeks ago in the beginning construction stage!

Here we are on Fathers Day!
I will have more photos soon.

I am lucky to have a guy that enjoys creating with power tools.
So now I need to make a few table cloths.
Making it work with the new size and lay out
might be a challenge!

With all the Pinspiration available have you gotten
any inspiration from Pinterest?
If so, you might want to join the fun with

I Am One Proud Momma!

Watch This--Enlarge & Listen!
Filmed by our boys last week!
Oldest in blue/yellow   Youngest in Black/Gray

A little background!
After a couple of years and a few hiccups in life,
we were gifted with two incredible boys.
That was 23 and 19 years ago.
During their journey to become men they were given a few obstacles,
some not so easy and some recently to overcome.

These detours has made them men!
The oldest graduates with a Master's Degree in the spring
and the youngest recently completed his Helicopters' Private Pilots test.
(he can fly the helicopter in the YouTube).

The trip to Whistler was our graduation gift to them!!
They deserved it!
And I just had to share!

A Year Ago-This Week-With My Mom!

Last year this week, my mother and I were in Houston, Texas.
A long awaited trip that I wouldn't have wanted
to have shared with anyone else.
We laughed and cried while I treasured every minute of it!

Some photos are blurry-I was learning but clear on previous post.

At that time, it was a hectic trying to get a earlier flight
with the onset of Hurricane Sandy's arrival, but we did.

(A few miles from our home)

We returned home to our family safe and homes in tack,
having minimal damage in our area.
But many were not so lucky (including my in-laws) .
I didn't post much of this memorable trip, I think since knowing so many had lost so much.

A year later, residents of New Jersey still have a long recovery
road, while also have came a along way.

As I read from many heading to Houston,
all the excitement and anticipation, I wanted to share our overdue memories
 of Houston 2012.

Thank You Mom, for creating these memories with me.
I know I am the luckiest person to have gotten you as
a Mom, Supporter, Confidant and Most of all Incredible Friend.

I LOVE YOU, MOM!
Thank You for being You!

Today We Celebrate Santa Lucia!

Today is Santa Lucia!
Which will be celebrated all over Sweden!
As well as in New Jersey, USA

Our family will arrive VERY early today to my mothers house with Swedish pancakes,
whipped cream and fresh berries.
The children will have lite candles and sing Santa Lucia.
True tradition is to have Saffron Bread.

Our church congregation had many Scandinavian, Germany and Finnish immigrants at one time. My mother (from Sweden) and many of the church members
are keeping the traditions alive for future generations.
Each year in the beginning of December, they hold a Lucia Pageant at our church.
Everyone works making Swedish meatballs, split pea soup, limpa bread,
cardamon bread, almond ring bread, and homemade
German, Finnish and Swedish cookies
 plus we must have
herring, lingon berry and farmers cheese.

There are many Scandinavian traditions that we celebrate
and this pageant has become another tradition for so many
families in our area.

Most years I make a quilt that is raffled.
And the proceeds go to
"World Hunger"

Fall Vest For Mom and Giveaway

 My Mom,
 Encourager, Supporter, Cheerleader
and Friend!
 (but Mom always first!).
(Houston Give Away Below)

I participated in my first Blog Hop a few posts back.
In the Hop I used 2 fabrics.
I liked the green fabric so.... much, that I took all the remaining cuts
(OK..they are scraps but I can't label them that, when recreating Art--Right?)
and added a few additional cuts to the cover the top!
Added a FEW fall leafs that was cut with the Accu-Quilt.
I was going for a subtle "Fall" look.
Kinda like a pile of crinkled leafs with only a few Whole Jewels in the crowd.
(Alright poetry is not my thng!)

The fabric cuts were applied to a sweatshirt!
Traced a favorite store purchased vest as a pattern to cut the arms a edges.

It was quilted on a mid-arm!
A domestic machine works just as nice.

May just need to make one for me too!

A HOUSTON GIVE AWAY!
Allot of people that follow this blog will be in Houston.
So be on the look-out,  the first person that stops my mom
and says that they saw this post,
will get a pile of leafs.
