Spreading My Wings!

In the past I have been a bit hesitant about online involvement when producing things. Call it fear of failure, not meeting deadlines or just--is it worthy to be shown?

Jacquelynne at The Art of Home created a no pressure, non judgmental and get this a non-deadline BOM! And you can still join the fun by going to her blog. These cold days have been perfect to make these fun and fast blocks. Plus on Saturday (in 2 days) she is holding a "Catch Up Day". Click here.

Plus the added bonus is there are several giveaways you can participate in along the way. That is how I stumbled on Jacque's blog Lily Pad Quilting.  A few days ago Jacque was hosting a giveaway and I won two great patterns. The warm beachy one is calling me now!

Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM

Never having participated in a online BOM before, I joined with Jacquelynne Steves over at The Art Of Home for the Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM.  She has created a easy, fun and non-stressful BOM for this time of the year. It is my understanding that it is not too late to join in here. We can opt to make either 4 or 6 blocks. I just made mine in the past two days (one a day). Jacquelynne even shows you several colorways here.

Winner's & Sharing Tips!

I had the opportunity to participate in the
"See You In September" blog hop.
The post is directly under this one or

To answer questions and comments,
I figured I would answer them today.

As for the:

Square Ruler Runner
To get the square shape-miter the corners.
I suggest pinning it first to make sure it falls
the way you want before sewing.
For the length-having all pieces exactly the same length is
 what will make it square.
I hemmed both sides before mitering.

The Cooler Table
This was when it was started!

Perfect outdoor table!
This is the table I saw for inspiration.
Type in "Cooler Table" on Pinterest for more styles.

iPad/iPhone Stand

This is explained by Michele at Factotum Of Arts
there is nothing I can add here.
Except this is a exceptionally fast project and
perfect for a quick gift or Christmas!

Save The Gingham Quilt

For the pattern I used the Winner's Bouquet templates.
I suggest using the registration marking holes
 on the template when piecing.
Just makes life easier!

AND THE TWO WINNERS ARE!

Love all your projects specially the quilt caught my eye.Fabulous quilting!

and

Great projects and a beautiful gingham quilt. What wonderful quilting too.

Congratulations!

I will contact both of you for addresses.
Please respond within the week so I can send you the gifts!

If you do not know Judy at Quilt Paradigm.
Let me introduce you!

Paradigm means-model, example and pattern.
Which is what Judy has created on her blog!

I stumbled onto her page and have been hooked.
I guess it can be called Blog Chemistry.
Whenever I see her post in my inbox,
I know I am in for a creative treat!

Here are a few recent pics from her blog.
Hop on over to see her great posts.
Pretty sure you might end up following her as well!

Judy does her quilting on her domestic machine.
Amazing!

I was lucky to be tagged by Judy to participate in the
"Around The World Blog Hop"
My big day is Monday August 4th.

The fun part about this blog hop is getting to meet other bloggers  and to hear and see what their creative & work process is.
Also I get to tag 3 blogs that I stalk enjoy reading & follow.

If you get a chance leave a comment on Judy's page,

Revisit For Charity

Val has a wonderful blog, where you can re-post
from your archives. She picks the topic and you can join in.

I donated this quilt to be auctioned off to

May For Me On A Monday!

"May For Me!"
is a linking party at Marcia"s Crafty Sewing blog.
During the month of May you can share what you
do to make time for yourself, even if only for 5 minutes!

One way I honor "Me Time" is by........
"Doodling on the Deck"

I enjoy sitting outside, draw a few lines and
get familiar with future quilt designs.
Whats that saying "Muscle Memory"?

Here is where I pull out ALL those books that I seem to
collect and play with the pen so I am ready for that special quilt
that needs that special design.

I just love this wood fabric from IKEA!

Thanks Barb!

Barb of Mountain Quiltworks Blogspot and I collided a few years back while blogging.
After chatting on the phone, she left me
having a blog crush--is that weird to say!
There's alot of similarities in our
lives and that might be one of the reasons
I can relate so well with her--the word that might
come to her mind is stalking--ha-ha!
Anyway, I am going to follow her lead on this whole New Year Goal thing.

My Button

Putting this out there gives me
hope that I will hold myself accountable and commit.
The guide lines are simple--so I am Good!

For the Guide Lines go to
Or
Shanna of Fiber Of All Sorts

So here is my first to get working on!

Hola & Blog Linky Party!

WARNING:
Adjust Your Speakers.
Mexican Vacation Music is Going to Start Now!

Boat to the left is our sailors.
Hola!
Estamos de vuelta de México!
We are back from Mexico!

Landed Friday night, got a few hours sleep,
and Saturday took off to a quilting class.
The family was on their own!
One son washed/packed and went back to college
(Don't Forget to Call Your Mom!)
and the other son finished up homework
(with no food in the house)
Do you think I have my priorities straight?
I most likely will not get the
"Mother Of The Year Award".
And I am so OK with that.

I have been on a slight detour from
quilting and blogging.
And now that I have recovered by vacationing,
  swimming, tanning and relaxing!
I AM BACK!

So.. to begin my process of returning to normal,
I am posting about Mexico and
a Blog Linky Party I linked up to upon returning.

 Fear Not!
I only posted some of the photos.
For my family, I will send you the LONG Version soon.

Note to Self:
Do not bring cotton yarn and use metal
needles in tropical climates.

This plate I painted as a souvenir
(shine is from sky light windows)
It looks like a quilt to me!

And onto the Blog Linky Party.
I never realized how many people I would
 meet through linking.
Check out
Marcia's Crafty Sewing Blog
this is her home page.
It is filled with lots of information.

So as I end this post....
I want to Thank You for all your
Wonderful comments, and being
able to meet so many new people
 by linking into Marcia's Party.
I look forward to getting to know you better!

And as for my family!
Lots of changes are coming to the Ernesto home
(Mexico gave us a new name).
I would not trade one second of our time together from this trip.
I have a permanent grin on my face and
heart from all the Love and Laughter
 that we shared!

There was allot of Zumba happening on the beach.
So.......
Here is 3 songs from our trip.
