The One That Almost Got Away & Fall Inspiration

I am not sure why this quilt had never made it on the blog.  This quilt hangs on the landing that leads into my sewing room during the fall months. All of the fabrics are Kaffee. There are so many quilting hiccups on this quilt however it still makes me happy!

Here are a few Fall Inspirational posted by others....

This one had me at Vodka!

Faux Fried Ice Cream & Target

What do these two things have to do with each other?
NOTHING!
Except this was what my yesterday looked like.

Between appointments and errands--I stopped at Target and stumbled onto some
 Quilty & Fibery looking things.

Check out these 3D Pinwheels!
What fun on some cards.

Love these chevron mailing envelopes.
Comes in 2 sizes.
Will be having a giveaway very soon so this might be in your mailbox shortly!

Scotch has a ruler masking tape!
Can think of many uses for this little gem.
And these little sticky note tabs will come in handy too!

When I got home I made Faux Fried Ice Cream.
I have been using this recipe for years and it is always a hit.
Thought I would share!
Recipe Is Here

I have varied this recipe with many different flavors of ice creams. Also have stuffed chocolate taco shells with the cream and coated the edges with the coating. And I will admit it--I have also softened ice cream, added some cardamon and added small bits of local fudge,
It is amazing!

These were made small for a up coming party.

Bon Appetite!

Thread & Burgers (Tut. Link)

What a Combo!

This weekend we had a yard sale.

And my mother was letting go of her slide cases.

My thoughts went to Thread Storage!
Remove the dividers and take off the lid.

You might be gasping at this rats nest.
But this is what my drawer had turned into!

And now it is this!

These metal trays lay so nice on each other!
Perfecto!

And for the Burgers!

Yesterday was still chilly here.
But we wanted BBQ!

The other day I was on CJ's blog at TinkSquared and she had a video
(linked on bottom of post) about making these burgers.
Along with that, CJ has allot of great recipes & tutorials to check out!

Once my hubby saw the video (he is a BBQ man)  he wanted to know what we were waiting for?

It is Beer Can Bacon Burgers

We made,
Fried Onion/Mash Potatoes/Bacon/Cheese
Tomato sauce/Pepperoni/Cheese

Since we are a sharing group--
What is some filling you would use?

Rum-Yum Weekend!

On "Throw Back Thursday" I posted about these leafs.
And realized that I had given them all away.
So yesterday I made 2 for our house!

Last year I stumbled onto Rum Chata that is a delicious liquor.
My favorite way of having this deliciousness is in Pumpkin Spiced coffee
during a football game!

Since my SIL's visit last winter, she has become the unofficial "spokes person" promoting
recipes that include RC. She might even be the president of the fan club by now!

Her latest media share was...Rum Chata Pumpkin Pie!
After searching in our stores for
Jello's Pumpkin Spice pudding I ordered it on Amazon.
(I know CRAZY!)

Rum chata pumpkin spice

The recipe is quit simple replace the milk with Rum Chata!
You can also use with vanilla or toasted coconut instant pudding.

Hubby and I tested the pudding with a fire going!
Perfect and Yummy!

Peachy Keen!

I appreciate the labor of a detailed & involved recipe.
However I am all about easy-delicious-fast.

Peach Soup
As a child one of the comfort foods that my mother would make is fruit soup. Whether is was strawberry, blueberry or mixed berry. Nothing beat the warm fruit soup with ice cold milk. I do not recall having peach soup but my son asked if I could try it with peaches. I did find some recipes that resemble what we are use to, but remember my easy-delicious-fast policy!
So here is my version!

25-30 ripe white peaches
1 can of Whole Coconut Milk (13.5 oz.)

Rinse peaches, remove pit and put in a pot (yeap-leave the skin on--it is good fiber). Simmer on low with a lid until peach's start to boil in their own juices. Spoon 1/2 to 3/4 of the chunks into a blender (reserving the remaining chunks). Blend and return to a pot. Add a can of coconut milk to the blended puree, stir till dissolved and add remaining peach chunks. Optional to add vanilla and sugar--but mine was sweet enough! It is a healthy bowl of COMFORT!  I like to freeze some for the winter months too!

Soup is not very yellow since I used white peaches.

Since I had more peaches I made some....

Peach Ice Cream
A few years ago I discovered a recipe for making ice cream without an ice cream maker. I make this for special occasions and have discovered many variations however my favorite is adding cardamom and bits of vanilla fudge--OMG!  There are many recipes but this is the one I adapted for our home to be less sweet than those I have found.

4-cups of Whole or Heavy Whipping Cream
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (about 14 oz)
2 scraped Vanilla Beans
6 peaches-diced

Blend cream, sweetened condensed milk and scraped vanilla beans in a mixing bowl.
When blended add diced peaches and freeze for at least 6 hour or overnight.
Invite your quilting friends and have fun!

Vanilla Bean is a must in this recipe!
