Friend's, Food & Fiber
As with all retreats there is no shortage of food & drink!
A wine that we enjoy is Apothic "Dark" which is a limited edition.
I know that bottle looks lonely on the table but I brought 2 more!

Great gift during this Spooky Season!
Buttons cookies!
Hubby suggested next time to use licorice as the thread.
He is quick learner!
Also made some Button Chocolate Pops.
Looks like I was on Button kick for this retreat!
These are only a few friend photos.
More to come when I post the Show & Tell next time.
Shopping!
I love a good scissor fabric!
One of my "Blogging Besties" Kelly from
Pink A Dot Quilts blogspot meet up with us at
Burkholder's Fabric. Kelly is the one that has turned my eye onto low volume prints. There is a art to using these fabrics and she has mastered it! If you can visit her blog!
And of course--
in Helen fashion I had to pick up low volume in a darker version.
This is Radiance by Robert Kaufman.
This is when photos do no justice.
These are a silk blend that add sheen & richness to a quilt top.
I do have plan for these!!
I gathered 4 of the Moda Figures charm packs.
And Chelsey from Nini & The Sea found the backing-isn't it perfect?
When starting this trip we ended up in Needles & Pins Quilt Shop and found this cute license in fabric!
And I now have enough backing to last for awhile!
These fabrics scream my name!

ReplyDeleteYummy looking cookies! (Do you have a particular recipe?)
ReplyDeleteGreat cookies and looks like a lot accomplished as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had an absolute blast! A little green with envy ;) Love the fabric! All.of.it! haha umm.... not to add to your addiction but have you seen RK's new wide backing? . . . fabulous! I got some from Hawthorn's, I'm sure you could get it elsewhere but it has YOUR name written all over it! http://www.hawthornethreads.com/fabric/designer/robert_kaufman_house_designer/spot_on_wide/spot_on_in_black
ReplyDeleteI think quilting retreats are the BEST! Love the button cookies. They look super yummy (good idea with the licorice...). I'll see if I can find some of that Apothic Dark. I have like their other wines. And I really want to try some of the RK radiance--it looks very interesting. I got the license plates from both CA and MN so I'm going to make 'sew together" bag with them.
ReplyDelete.I love the button cookies! The licorice is a great touch. What a fun retreat, it looks like a blast! Thank you for sharing with Modern Tradition Quilts linky party KISIMIF.--Shannon
