What I Have Learned!

That Fear Will Get You Nowhere!

Jan made this beautiful black, white and red quilt.
I LOVE IT!

OK--Truth be told.
There was a brief time that I was NOT so in Love with it!

Reason why:
Blocks are very angular and the others are circles.

On a black and white quilt.
What color thread do you quilt with?
Black, red or white would have added busyness
to a already busy top.

To add to my fear--the backing is red.
Black or white would have been stark on the red.

I was not sure if my quilting abilities were up to a certain level.
It would show the slightest imperfection on the red backing.

So I went with the wonderful netural color of
GRAY!

The gray melted into the red and did not take away from the front.

The red backing was perect for this quilt.
My husband found me several times lying under the frame
peering at the bottom.

This piece of art that Jan made is going to
be a gift for her son.

Jan I hope you like this as much as I liked quilting it.

A reminder that Oct. 1st. is the start date for the Blog Hop
"Leafs Me Happy"
that I will be particapating in.
I will post the schedule on Monday.
