A Photo Week!

This week it has been all about family, work and photos!
I am in the market for a new camera and a wonderful friend has lent me
her camera (Canon A1100IS)  to play and test the waters with hers.
Thanks Denise!!!!

Relatives were visiting from Sweden last week.
Having a all American pre July 4th cook-out. It was so... nice
to reconnect with them.
Hope to see more of them!
By the way I am considering thier camera  (Lumix DMC LX5)

July 4th on the beach before the Fireworks!
This is Nathan.

 Sunset shot on July 4th

Jim and Mom sitting back with a little wine before the show begins.
It was a beautiful Fireworks show.

Ronald getting ready for ANOTHER day of surfing.

This was taken while driving by one of many Ospray nests.
Doing about 50!!!! I was amazed at how well the photo came out.

A few miles to the east is the ocean and 1 mile to the west
is the Delaware Bay. After diner we took the dog to the bay, took a walk to gather some
sea glass (I collect) then sat to see a beautiful sunset!

Last night, we went out for diner to one of the new hot spots on the water.
It was nice to have some family time with the boys!

And here is Buddy at the Bay!

Last Nights Sunset!

If anyone has any ideas, thoughts or suggestions on purchasing a camera.
I would love to hear from you!!!
I find this all to be a bit overwhelming at times.
I can not Thank Denise enough to let me play with her camera
to figure out what it is I am looking for.

Jan's Jewel Of A Quilt

What Beautiful Eye Candy!

If I am correct this is Jan's second quilt that she has made.
She has a eye for Great Color!

This quilt is going to be a graduation gift for her daughter.
Jan allowed me quilt this whatever way I choose.
I just loved the idea of "Feathers"

Knowing that Jan is new to the quilting world,  I look forward
to seeing what she creates next!
It will be a Treat to See!!

Fun Times!

Before the start of the summer rush (we live at a seashore resort area),
a group of us gathered at my mother's
house for a wonderful luncheon, learned a new folded fabric technique
 and shared lots of laughs.
What a Fun Day!!!

Gail practicing her ripping out skills that will
 be made into future projects.

Donna working on her beautiful embroidery.

And Elena working on her new skill of Sashiko.

A few days later I found myself reading
some great literature
"Quilting Arts"
Overlooking the beach and ocean.

Then floating on the Lazy River

LIFE IS SO...... GOOD!
My machine is even having a holiday!

The One I Love!

Here is the quilt that just hits me the right way.
 I love everything about it.

I took a class by Natalie Sewell with some friends in beautiful
 Hudson Valley, New York.
This is the class that set me free from rules and restrictions.
When we used sharpie markers, white out inks and did not follow a pattern. I
knew I stumbled onto a process that I would love to do.

I still smile when I think back to the little carry on suit cases that
most of us came with while we all seemed to show up with a
over sized suitcases filled with fabrics.

One of my favorite things is meeting the women.
They came from California, Texas, New York, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Rhode Island and Canada. There was a art gallery curator, nurse, domestics goddess, office workers and retired professionals.
But we left feeling like
 ARTISTS!

Does Stapling Count?

 NO Seams, Pins or Blocks
I recovered the dining room chairs!
The fabric is from Ikea.

I like the clean sharp lines!
Hopefully I will be back at the machine this week!!
