Here's The Plan!

Use these templates.....

To cut these fabrics......

To make this quilt.......

I've had these templates for way too long and
thought it would work well on the gingham.
I Hope!

This is my "Work In Progress"

Today was.............

........WONDERFUL!

it was in the 90's--but not on the water!

We Fished!

I read--the new McTavishing book.

Pulled up to the 2 Mile Crab House for lunch to meet my mom.

Hijacked my mom for a ride.
This is her friends boat house in Cape May
(this little house was published in a designer home magazine--the inside is amazing!)

Rode through the harbor and saw boats like my dad use to own!

Went out in the bay with lots of dolphins.

Came home and grilled a basil & Jersey tomato white pizza.
Caught fish today but they were not keepers!

To include a bit of fiber!
A few weeks back Bloomin Workshop had a giveaway
to win a fat quarter bundle from American Made Brand.
And yeap, I was one of the winners.
Can't wait to play with this bundle!

I also linked up with Val's for "Tuesday Archives"
about English Paper Piecing

Quilt Con & a Mason Jar!

My husband and I for years throw our spare change into a bucket and every January before we go skiing, we cash it in. It is fun to see how much that change actually adds up to be. Can I say, this family of four (now three) usually gets close to 4 weekly passes of skiing each year! Wahoo!!!

So this year I am joining Val over at Val's Quilting Studio who is holding a penny-pinching challenge. Since I am heading to Quilt Con in February, I will cash out my savings to take to Austin but will continue to the end of the challenge to see what I had saved!

So.... hop on over to Val's blog if you want to join in. And lets see what you end up getting.

WIP Is Done!

Here is the story:
My son's friend loves the band "Rebelution" and her favorite
album is  "Peace Of Mind". She asked if I could make the cover of this album into a quilt for her.

Below is the album cover and one of their songs.
They are a mix of rock, world & reggae.

Click to hear and see the cover

My thought was
SURE-It looks simple enough!
Yeah-Right!

Here are the stages of progress.
My son inherited the artsy gene,
so he helped me paint the back ground fabric.

The levels for the background were painted,
diluted, blended and highlighted.

Then it was onto applying the applique.
I kept the pieces down with allot of quilting.
This is intended for a bed.

The water falls has Angelina fibers and crystal powder in it.

On the album there looks to be underground rivers.

And then the Quilting!
