A Year Ago-This Week-With My Mom!

Last year this week, my mother and I were in Houston, Texas.
A long awaited trip that I wouldn't have wanted
to have shared with anyone else.
We laughed and cried while I treasured every minute of it!

Some photos are blurry-I was learning but clear on previous post.

At that time, it was a hectic trying to get a earlier flight
with the onset of Hurricane Sandy's arrival, but we did.

(A few miles from our home)

We returned home to our family safe and homes in tack,
having minimal damage in our area.
But many were not so lucky (including my in-laws) .
I didn't post much of this memorable trip, I think since knowing so many had lost so much.

A year later, residents of New Jersey still have a long recovery
road, while also have came a along way.

As I read from many heading to Houston,
all the excitement and anticipation, I wanted to share our overdue memories
 of Houston 2012.

Thank You Mom, for creating these memories with me.
I know I am the luckiest person to have gotten you as
a Mom, Supporter, Confidant and Most of all Incredible Friend.

I LOVE YOU, MOM!
Thank You for being You!

Wahoo! Carol Came in 2nd!

Here is Carol, holding her 2nd Place ribbon with her beautiful quilt.

Just for the record--this is her first quilt she has ever made!
WAHOO!!!!!

Knowing Carol for a few years, I discovered that she is a very talented
clothing sewer, but had never tackled a quilt until now.

This year after having surgery, Carol made this inspiring quilt, asked me to quilt it
and entered in a Lancaster, Pa. County Fair.

A photo of the quilt at the fair.

Attaching the binding.

Quilt in Carol's home.

Below are close-up details while this beauty was being quilted in my home.

Some of the details where so small,
I needed to turn down the lighting to see.

So..... Carol has the quilting fever!
I do not think this is the last we will see of her talents!

Thank You Carol for entrusting and letting me be apart of your quilt!

Scarf Camera Strap & Boat Ride! (Tut. Link)

Scarf Camera Strap Tutorial {Camera Accessories}

Find a comfy scarf
(Mine is from my closet)

Gather a piece of leather and two clasp hooks.
(Mine is from a old pocket book and clasps are from Michael's)

When done, you will have a very
comfy camera strap!
(one strap is in China as we speak)

Here is the tutorial for the
Scarf Camera Strap

Tip-use either a leather or jeans needle.
To avoid breaking the needle, sew slowly.
