Finding What Makes You Happy!

If everyday was perfect, would we know the feeling
of the incredible and outstanding days when
 they came our way!

That is what made yesterday so Great!

And this is how it went:
Awoke early to send our son off to high school.
As of yesterday he has now driven himself to school for 4 days.
When did this happen!
Made plans to meet a friend at the beach.
Gathered my coffee, hand stitching, audio book, beach chair
and off I went.

After I got to the beach.
I made a few of these fabric origami beauties
(I will post more about this in future), while listening to
The Traveling Pomegranates. Now I must say
 "Could Life Get Any Better"

 Yes It Can!
Here is a group of painting students.
I could just feel their excitement.
And I was thinking how much we are all alike in finding
"Passion" in our hobbies. They were chatting about colors, depth and
perception. Sound a bit familiar!

And as much warmth and beauty that is found in our studios
(that what I will call it from now on).
There was such a heart felt feeling of seeing their studios
being moved onto the beach.

What a scene!

And as the eager to learn painters where gathered around their teacher.
I kept thinking that our canvas is fabric and we all feel
the joys of LEARNING something new!

And as I turned with my New Camera (I think I am heading into another
passion). I hope you can see him--there is a man with his club in hand
shooting his golf balls.
Looks like he is Happy!

And to top of the Perfect Day, my friend Denise came
and we chatted for hours. I have known Denise for a short while,
but we have allot in common and talking for hours was so... easy and so... much fun.
We are planning on revisiting the beach VERY soon.

So here is a inspiring Sunset a few weeks ago.

And visitor that was in my back yard.

I am new to blogging since January. My plan was to blog consistently.
I have discovered that I am not capable of blogging during July and August.
I have a summer business, blogging and quilting has to take a back burner during that time.
So I will call that time period my "Summer Hiatus"

So to all of you concerned and curious quilters,
Thank You for checking on me over the summer.

A Photo Week!

This week it has been all about family, work and photos!
I am in the market for a new camera and a wonderful friend has lent me
her camera (Canon A1100IS)  to play and test the waters with hers.
Thanks Denise!!!!

Sunset

Relatives were visiting from Sweden last week.
Having a all American pre July 4th cook-out. It was so... nice
to reconnect with them.
Hope to see more of them!
By the way I am considering thier camera  (Lumix DMC LX5)

July 4th on the beach before the Fireworks!
This is Nathan.

 Sunset shot on July 4th

Jim and Mom sitting back with a little wine before the show begins.
It was a beautiful Fireworks show.

Ronald getting ready for ANOTHER day of surfing.

This was taken while driving by one of many Ospray nests.
Doing about 50!!!! I was amazed at how well the photo came out.

A few miles to the east is the ocean and 1 mile to the west
is the Delaware Bay. After diner we took the dog to the bay, took a walk to gather some
sea glass (I collect) then sat to see a beautiful sunset!

Last night, we went out for diner to one of the new hot spots on the water.
It was nice to have some family time with the boys!

And here is Buddy at the Bay!

Last Nights Sunset!

If anyone has any ideas, thoughts or suggestions on purchasing a camera.
I would love to hear from you!!!
I find this all to be a bit overwhelming at times.
I can not Thank Denise enough to let me play with her camera
to figure out what it is I am looking for.

Jan's Jewel Of A Quilt

What Beautiful Eye Candy!

If I am correct this is Jan's second quilt that she has made.
She has a eye for Great Color!

This quilt is going to be a graduation gift for her daughter.
Jan allowed me quilt this whatever way I choose.
I just loved the idea of "Feathers"

Knowing that Jan is new to the quilting world,  I look forward
to seeing what she creates next!
It will be a Treat to See!!

Fun Times!

Before the start of the summer rush (we live at a seashore resort area),
a group of us gathered at my mother's
house for a wonderful luncheon, learned a new folded fabric technique
 and shared lots of laughs.
What a Fun Day!!!

Gail practicing her ripping out skills that will
 be made into future projects.

Donna working on her beautiful embroidery.

And Elena working on her new skill of Sashiko.

A few days later I found myself reading
some great literature
"Quilting Arts"
Overlooking the beach and ocean.

Then floating on the Lazy River

LIFE IS SO...... GOOD!
My machine is even having a holiday!

The One I Love!

Here is the quilt that just hits me the right way.
 I love everything about it.

I took a class by Natalie Sewell with some friends in beautiful
 Hudson Valley, New York.
This is the class that set me free from rules and restrictions.
When we used sharpie markers, white out inks and did not follow a pattern. I
knew I stumbled onto a process that I would love to do.

I still smile when I think back to the little carry on suit cases that
most of us came with while we all seemed to show up with a
over sized suitcases filled with fabrics.

One of my favorite things is meeting the women.
They came from California, Texas, New York, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Rhode Island and Canada. There was a art gallery curator, nurse, domestics goddess, office workers and retired professionals.
But we left feeling like
 ARTISTS!

Till We Quit Again,
Helen
